• Effective January 1, 2023, the NYC REMAC, as part of its credentialing process, has approved elimination of the written exam for the purposes of re-credentialing paramedics to functionally operate in the New York City region.
o Original paramedics will continue to require successful completion of the NYC REMAC Paramedic Exam.
o Re-credentialing Paramedics must continue to maintain 72 hours CME, as detailed in the Certification & Credentialing Administrative Manual.
o Additionally, paramedics must successfully complete all available Regional Updates as part of their re-credentialing process.
o Regional Updates will be available on the REMSCO LMS portal and will have CME hours assigned based on the competency.
o CME hours are not limited to those obtainable via the REMSCO LMS portal through Regional Updates.

• CME Based re-credentialing will be available for Paramedics whose NYC REMAC credential expires AFTER January 1, 2023.

• Paramedics are strongly encouraged to review credentialing requirements as published in the most current Certification & Credentialing Administrative Manual.
