CPR Credentialing

NYC REMSCO is an American Heart Association (AHA) certified training center that offers BLS, ACLS, and CPR courses.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. The course is for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills.

The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course builds on what students learned in the BLS course, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. The course is for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency lifesaving procedure done when a heart stops beating. Two versions of CPR are the conventional CPR version (chest compressions and mouth-to mouth breathing) and compression only CPR/Hands-Only CPR (without mouth-to mouth breathing).
