For the past decade, the National Pediatric Readiness Project has supported emergency departments in improving their preparedness to care for sick and injured children. The program’s core tenets include an assessment, a private gap report, and a free tool kit that offers support to improve in areas of deficit. Starting in May 2024, the National Prehospital Pediatric Readiness Project (PPRP) will launch its first assessment. Similar to the NPRP, the assessment will lead a gap report and opportunities to access the free toolkit. NYS EMS Leaders, Registration is still open for 2024 EMS Day on the Hill in Washington, DC. Hundreds of EMS advocates will gather on Wednesday, April 17 for a briefing and then visit our members of Congress on Capitol Hill on Thursday, April 18. This year we will be talking with our members of Congress about preventing cuts to Medicare ambulance payments and building support for bills to provide funding for EMS innovations such as community paramedicine, treat-in-place, and transport to alternate destinations.
